2022 Updates

Hi there, 👋

We’re back… did you miss us?!

Since our last update, we said goodbye to 2021, blinked, and all of a sudden it’s July 🤯 – the start of a new financial year, and winter is well and truly upon us (it’s grey, cold and raining outside… but hey, at least we can wear cute coats and scarves! 🧣)

Even though we’ve been quiet with our correspondence – it's been very busy in-house!

Leeder House is currently fully booked, and we are thrilled to have a wide variety of interesting professions under the one roof. The creative juices are certainly flowing through the halls.

Although we don’t have private offices or coworking spaces to offer at the moment, you can join our waitlist and we will be in touch once something comes up.

You can also expect some exciting opportunities to be announced in the near future #watchthisspace

Many businesses have adopted a flexible working environment since COVID-19, by offering the option to work from home.

We’ve certainly seen an increase of businesses adopting this new way of working, many of which have then taken advantage of our virtual office service which allows you to register our address as your official place of business and use our office as a mail depot.

At the start of the year, we welcomed back a friendly and familiar face, Jess who returned to Harby Studios from maternity leave. Jess hit the ground running and has been busy managing several projects and working closely with the team to continue kicking goals.

We also introduced some new faces to the Harby Studios office.

First up joining the team is bright and bubbly Em, logging in as Executive Assistant all the way from Manchester (what we would do without Microsoft Teams – right?!) 💻

Pictured above from top left to bottom right: Harby Studios Jess, Em, Hails & Viola.
Hard to miss, Hails recently started as Managing Consultant and fits right into the building by already impressing residents with her good taste in music which plays down the hall each day.We also welcomed back a familiar face, Viola, who previously completed work experience with Harby Studios.

With a degree in journalism under her belt and currently studying graphic design and creative advertising, Viola re-joins the team in her new role as Marketing Coordinator.

Lastly, Krystal joins as Marketing Consultant based up North in Broome, living the good warm life with her partner and daughter.

This leads us to our very exciting announcement that we’ve had in the works for the last few months and are delighted to finally share it with you….

*Drum roll please* 🥁

We have opened a new office in BROOME!! 🐊🥭🍻

Cove Workspace is Leeder House’s sister company located in far north WA, nestled amongst the mangroves in Chinatown Broome.

We have coworking spaces, offices and a fully equipped meeting room available for hire.

Special mention to Sharyn, a long-term resident of Leeder House who we said goodbye to earlier in the year – we wish you all the very best!
New Leedy Hot Spots
Here’s the hottest places in Leederville to check out – have you been to any yet?

  • Nourish – Previously known as Six Bakery. This cosy café has had a name change and a revamp, providing plenty of healthy options for all occasions 🥗
  • Phat Lon – Think colourful, fresh, flavoursome Vietnamese share plates. Opened by Jenny Lam, a former MasterChef contestant and owner of popular street food restaurant next door – Bunn Mee 🐷
  • Vikka – Ciao carbs! This cool intimate gourmet pizza joint is accompanied with good company and BYO wine – slice of heaven if you ask us! 🍕
  • Will St. –Will Meyrick, another renowned chef to hit the Leederville restaurant scene, providing a stunning modern setting and impressive Balinese inspired menu to match 🌶

We are eagerly awaiting the grand opening of Popeyes, a new satay hut bar with a Tiki Cubana twist and Mr Potato, a healthy, loaded hot potatoes spot – we can’t wait!! 🥔

Events
We celebrated the EOFY in true Leeder House style, by taking part in a ‘Leedy’ scavenger hunt. The official winner being Harby Studios resident Nelly who answered 19 out of 22 clues! Special mentioned to Reece at Benchmark who received the wooden spoon. The last clue led everyone to the final destination of the evening where we indulged in wine and delicious Asian inspired canapes.
Charities
National Blood Donor Week was recognised in June, and we jumped at the opportunity to get involved for such an important cause.Residents headed down to the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood centre in Perth City and rolled up their sleeves to donate. 🩸Not only did they contribute to help save lives (and later found out where their donations went to), they found out their blood type and ate all the tasty refreshments on offer, giving blood is thirsty work after all! 🧃It’s never too late to donate with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood.
Office Sweeps
There’s a handful of footy fanatics in the house so we kicked off the first sweep for the year with an AFL sweeps. 🏈With just under halfway to go in the season, which team do you think has a shot at winning the Grand Final? 🏆
Anniversaries
Reece from Benchmark celebrated three years as a LH resident, whilst Troy & Melan from CADSULT IDS celebrated two 👏

The following residents recently celebrated their birthdays. We love any reason to put on a morning tea with all the naughtiest and sweetest treats! 🧁Happy Birthday to Harby Studios superstars Rhi, Jess and Nell, the lovely ladies at IVET Group Bailee, Dani and Kat, our resident prankster Troy from CADSULT IDS and the clever Claire from Appbot. We hope you all enjoyed your special days! 🎁🎈
